‘Climate change is at the door, but disease is in the house’

Thousands of people have poured out of Samoa this weekend after what has been hailed as a historic and successful Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.
But they are leaving behind a Pacific nation with a health crisis , struggling to look after the growing numbers of people suffering diabetes, heart disease and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and facing the threat of losing more and more doctors and nurses overseas.
